During the preparation of your tax return and other services we may perform on your behalf, you share personal information with us and our employees. This might include information on applications, worksheets, tax organizers or other documents used in preparing the tax returns or other reports or calculations. It also may include information we receive from third parties such as brokerage firms or banks regarding your accounts with them.

Protecting your privacy is important to us so your personal information is only shared with those employees with whom it is necessary to perform the services you have hired us to do. State and federal laws and the standards of the CPA profession require us to keep your information confidential unless we are required by a legal authority to divulge the information.

If necessary, some of this information may be shared with our software suppliers, but only when necessary to facilitate the correct processing of your return. Under California law, you must give written permission before this information can be shared. Our suppliers share our privacy policy and commitment to your protection.

Buckley, Patchen, Riemann & Hall maintains physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to protect the confidentiality of your personal information. If you ever discontinue your client relationship with us, we will furnish you with a copy of the information in our files if you request it in writing. We will continue to protect and treat the information that you have entrusted with us as confidential. When your personal information is no longer needed, it is shredded, erased or destroyed before being recycled.
